Southern Breeze hosts two major conferences every year - Springmingle,
in February or March, and the fall conference, "Writing and Illustrating
for Kids," the third Saturday in October. Each offers authors and
illustrators a chance to meet editors, agents, published authors, and
other children's book professionals, as well as the opportunity to network
with fellow creators in their region.
In addition, Southern Breeze hosts a number of smaller "schmoozes,"
manuscript critiques, and writing workshops. Watch this space for event
announcements and registration information.
Follow the links below to learn more about previous and upcoming Southern
Breeze conferences.

Southern Breeze Nature Writers and Illustrators
On May
31, 2007, a group will be getting together in the Birmingham area for
an outing to the Cahaba River. Depending on river height and other factors
we may go see the endangered Cahaba Lilies (www.cahabariver.net/lily.htm)
or we may go to another area of the river to just wade and view all
the splendor of this great river. Bring nature journals, cameras, an
inquisitive mind take away refreshment and inspiration.
Let me
know if you would like to come and we will provide more information
as the time draws closer.
