Along with Stephen Mooser, I founded the SCBWI in 1971. I have been its Executive Director for 50 years, stepping down in 2022 to run the SCBWI Impact and Legacy Fund, the charitable arm of SCBWI. I am the author of over 65 children's books, including the New York Times best selling series, HANK ZIPZER and ALIEN SUPERSTAR. I also write and produce family television including CORDUROY (PBS), HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS (Fox) and WAYSIDE SCHOOL (Nickelodeon) and HOW DO DINOSAURS (Apple TV).
