Welcome! The Nebraska region serves members over a wide geographical area. We host events that connect writers and illustrators and help our members grow in their craft, skills, and understanding of the publishing marketplace.

April 12th-14th, 2024 in Davenport, Iowa. Registration opens January 12th, 2024!

We’re kicking off 2024 with our fourth annual Indi-500 (word) Challenge! Once again, we have TWO contests: one for writers and one for illustrators. This is an SCBWI Nebraska members-only race to the finish. Based on selected themes and prompts, contestants create a 500-word story or spot illustration in just 48 hours.

Writers and illustrators! Join us for our new series of casual in-person events dubbed Story Spinners. Gather for a few hours and focus on your current work in progress in the company of like-minded creators. Next event: Saturday, January 27, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
